Vision Statement

The vision of Jackson Park Ministries is to see the families, children and all individuals of Jackson Park, Charlotte and surrounding communities come to know Christ as their Savior and Lord; becoming productive citizens in the community and serving others as a disciple of Christ.
 

Many of you have been supportive of the Jackson Park Ministry and we appreciate your heart for missions. We believe that the Lord has opened up a door for us to completely, wholeheartedly and, most importantly, Biblically help those in need. We have many families who come to us that have no shelter, no money and seemingly no hope! After twenty years of ministry, we are very aware that a lot of people's problems are a result of their poor choices and their neglect to follow Biblical principles in their life. There are also those families who are working very hard to survive but are just having difficulties doing so. Regardless of the person's circumstances, the answer to their problem is found in the Word of God, not the government, man or any other agency. The Bible is the answer to truly helping those in need!

The church, because of our compassion, has enabled many people in need to get worse. The church has enabled many people in need to get worse because of the lack of accountability. We must stop giving people a hand out and start giving them a Biblical hand up! We are called to be the good stewards of the resources that God has given us and we must use those resources to help those who have a true desire to "get on their feet." Without question God has called His church to help the poor, yet much of the church feels unprepared to effectively handle the needs of the poor families that walk in seeking assistance. We believe that many want to help, but sometimes people just do not know what to do. To help the church fulfill its responsibility to minister to the poor, we at Jackson Park seek your partnership in these ways -

1. We can be a training and outreach center for your church. If you are not adequately set up to take the quality time needed to screen and minister to the people Who call or come to your church, we together could accomplish that task.

2. You can adopt or help financially support one of the sixteen apartments that Jackson Park Ministries purchased in February of 1996. These apartments will be used to house homeless families for a period of time which will provide an environment in which they can begin to put their lives back together.

This is a great opportunity for the church of Jesus Christ to set the example of how to help the poor holistically and Biblically. We are encouraging churches to prayerfully consider financial support for the Transitional Housing Program. Through the program we will be able to minister to the "least of these" until Jesus comes. What a great opportunity we have to be "doers of the Word!"
