History of Nobles-Burnette Children's Playground & Park
Jackson Park Ministries has acquired the Nobles-Burnette Children’s Playground property. The park is named for Andy Nobles and John Burnette, two police officers with a heart for West Charlotte’s children. These officers began renovating a small piece of property located in the Jackson Park Community. Sadly on October 5th, 1993 their lives were ended in the line of duty by a convicted felon. Their fellow officers completed the park and dedicated it in honor of Andy and John in 1993. Over the years, the playground has fallen into a state of disrepair. JPM is committed to rehabilitate the park into a first class, fitting memorial for these two young officers. Andy and John’s love for the children of the community and the vision to give them a safe place to be just children, will not only be realized but be maintained for years to come. Work has already begun so don’t miss the opportunity to honor Andy and John by contributing to this project.
