Who We Are
The Vision of The Harvest Center of Charlotte (formerly Jackson Park Ministries) is to provide services that meet the needs of each individual within the entire family, at their point of need, all while showing them the love of Christ. As we focus on developing relationships with those coming to The Harvest Center (THCC), we seek to demonstrate compassion as we share the light of hope to those in darkness.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope for the future.” Jeremiah 29:11
This is accomplished by trained counselors who interview those who come for assistance and determine the root cause of the situation that required them to seek food, clothing, housing and other assistance. THCC provides a broad array of program services that fall within three major Program categories; Transformational Housing, Children, Youth, and Food.
Our services are provided in a Christian context with emphasis on helping people take responsibility for solving their own problems. We believe that we should give people a hand-up, not a hand-out. Our goal is to provide families an opportunity to survive their crisis and learn how to succeed.
Many families have difficulty believing the promise of John 10:10 where Jesus said, ”I have come that they may have life to the full.” Through God’s work at The Harvest Center of Charlotte this promise is becoming a reality for these families.
